What do I mean by weathered, in a storm some things like houses or cars can still withstand the storm, but has some wear and tear on it from when debris was flying in the air and hit the car so hard it cracked the windshield, or hit the side of the house where it caused deeply plunged scratches on the side of the house.
Being whole takes time and effort. It’s like an onion, you have to pull back one layer and deal with it before you go to another layer. You can’t skip layers. You have to go through the process of overcoming one to get to the next. But don’t think it happens overnight and all your issues you’ve gained over your lifespan just disappear.
Don’t sell yourself, or your idea short. One of my former college professors told me these exact words, “stop selling yourself short! You have a lot to offer as well as God on your side. Rejection is simply confirmation that something is not what God has for you.”
We immediately take a bath in it and soak up all the negativity. We’re human, it’s okay to feel these emotions. The key is… do not stay in that place of discouragement for too long. Why? Because if you stay stuck long enough, you’ll get tired of fighting, and you’ll remain there, which in turn becomes a negative cycle in your life.
