There comes a time when you will start to lose your way and feel completely lost. Everyone goes through this at one time or another. It’s completely normal and guess what? It’s okay!
You may be so overwhelmed with life that you can’t even think straight or make any sound decisions. You may have allowed life’s circumstances to get you off track and now you’re looking around asking God how did you get there? Or asking him to get you out of there.
Now, if you are like me; you’re the organized one who has to have everything planned out and followed precisely. You probably don’t like much change either. There are others who don’t mind following whichever way the wind blows and can adapt to anything. Either way, whatever person you relate too, at one point or another in your life, you have experienced a time or season in where you have felt completely lost. You don’t know which way you’re going; you don’t know whether to turn right, left, keep going straight, or maybe just make a U-turn.
I want to give you a few scriptures that will help you get to the place “God” wants you to be. You see how I said “God” and not “your” own way. Our flesh will lead us where ever we want to go, but that way is probably not the way God wants you to go. Going your own way may make you run into more problems than God intended for you to have.
If you’re currently following the way God has led you to go, then hey! You’re on the right track. But, if you’re currently following your own direction, and you’re feeling lost, maybe just maybe, God wanted you or wants you to switch paths and go a different direction.
Whatever path you’re on, I want to challenge you to recite these four scriptures for the next week and let God direct or redirect your steps. If you feel like you’re in the right place, then your challenge would be to recite the same scriptures and ask God what your next steps should be.
1. Proverbs 16:9 – The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps (NASB)
2. Psalm 119:23 – Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me. (NASB)
3. Psalm 32”8 – The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (NLT)
4. Psalm 37:23 – The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way; (ESV)
Make these scriptures personal; input your name when you recite them. For example: the Lord directs “your name” steps.
By you reciting these scriptures it’s taking your hands off the wheel and asking God to take over. You are setting your plans aside and asking God to be your planner. When we submit our ways to God it allows Him to work in our life. He will not go against our own will. Proverbs 16:3 says “Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” (NLT)
Give your plans over to God; He has the best GPS system!
well said, not YOUR own way, but God’s way FOR you! I am definitely someone who needs all the answers and blue print before I make a move in any direction, yet I find myself standing still a lot !! I will be writing these verses out and keep them on my mirror to recite every day <3
