Have you ever felt discouraged because things weren’t going as planned? You had everything mapped out in your mind, and bam, it was the total opposite. Let me share a story with you. Many of you know I just got promoted to a new position at work.
So, here I am at work, had everything all planned out. I just knew how all my deals were going to work. I was thinking it was going to be cake. I thought to myself, I have favor on my life, blessings have to follow, we are under an open Heaven, things are just going to fall in my lap.
Well, to my dismay, not one thing worked out how I thought it was going to work out. So, of course, I’m human and I got discouraged. I told God “this is not how things were supposed to be, things were supposed to line up.” Then, of course, God had to check me. My pastor likes to say “A father gives correction to his children because he loves them!”
God then said these words to me “Do you think a farmer’s harvest appears out of thin air? You must plow!” So, these past few weeks, I have had the word “plow” stuck at the forefront of my mind. I even wrote it on my desk calendar to remind me throughout the day that I must plow.
I’ve learned that my new position entails a lot of plowing before I get to see my harvest, but when I see that harvest, it makes the plowing all worth it. It’s like you forget about the plow and you enjoy the harvest.
Now, plowing doesn’t mean it has to be something you do at work. You plow in your daily life. I continue to plow with Braveheart daily. You must have an attitude of the farmer which is to continue to plow even when you don’t see your harvest yet. A farmer has faith that what he plows will eventually turn into a harvest. This is the mindset we need to stick with.
Plow, through those negative thoughts. Plow, through those tough days. Plow, through that disappointment. Plow, through that heartbreak. PLOW… PLOW… PLOW!!!
If you continue to plow, you will eventually see your harvest. Some harvests come sooner than others, but if the mentality of plowing always stays the same, you’ll see your harvest. Here’s some scripture to remind you that God will bless your land if you just keep plowing!!!
Deuteronomy 28:12
“The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”
Deuteronomy 28:8
“The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land.”
Don’t stay in your discouragement. Use your discouragement to be the push you need to get you to start plowing. You cannot get a harvest without plowing.
So… get to plowing! The sooner you plow; the sooner your harvest will come. This means, you have to start the process, God will bless your harvest in the right time and in the right season.
Once again something I needed to read thank you once again this whole buying a home isn’t how i planned it to be Thank you ?
YES! we live in a world of immediate gratification && we forget that we need to “harvest”, great reminder!!!
